Hi my name is Aeriyana Josephson. I’m 12 years old and from Regina, Saskatchewan.  For as long as I can remember music has always been a huge part of my life. I sing, and can play Ukelele, Piano and Trombone. My Papa was a music man so I grew up singing along as he’s play music on his Guitar. That’s what got me playing Ukelele.

Whenever I went over to my Great Grandparents my Great Grandpa would love when I’d hang out upstairs with him playing ukelele and singing. He loved it so much in fact that my Aunty Linda picked him up his own Ukelele so we could jam and he would often take out his harmonica to play along too.

Sadly we lost my Great Grandpa last November.  While up at the hospital we would try to make it as positive as possible using music to help bring him joy. The nursing staff had to close our door as we were too joyful I guess while singing and playing Ukelele.

Shortly after my Great Grandpa passed away my Mom had gifted me with piano lessons for Christmas. I had taken a few years break and she thought I’d love to get back to it. She was right. The owner knew how fast I catch on to music so she started me up with an adult piano lessons book and my lessons teacher had taught me how to play a song from my Great Grandma’s favorite musician Elvis Presley which made her extremely happy. This year I’ll be playing Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley in honor of my Great Grandpa.

I’m hoping to raise $3000 this year for TeleMiracle and am so thankful to be a member of Sask Talent for my second year in a row! My Mom and I have seen people benefit from the funding making a huge difference in their lives which is why we want to give back to this incredible cause.
